Here on offering we have a Martin custom shop sinker D-18 which sounded and played so good, that I kept it for myself. One day a gentleman came in and played it at random, and decided he had to have it. Now here it is for round two, as he has consigned several guitars, and finds himself with the unbelievable task of cutting down to just one Guitar, as he has taken an early retirement due to medical concerns.
This is a 2025 Empire Music Exclusive, which sounds and plays phenomenally well, and is like new condition. The specs include, upgraded sinker mahogany back and sides, upgraded Adirondack spruce top, forward shifted and scalloped Adirondack bracing in the 2025 return to GE spec, ebony fingerboard and bridge, modern belly drop in saddle, bone nut and saddle, Waverly tuners, modified V profile neck, 1 3/4 nut width, 2 5/32 string spacing at the bridge, and upgraded HSC.
This thing sounds fantastic, and the modified V profile is absolutely one of my favorite Knecks from Martin. It isn’t as large and chunky as the authentic, but is larger than the low oval profile, and extremely comfortable as a middle ground for all players in my opinion. The keyword there is players, I know some of you aren’t, but for those of you who are, this is nice.
