Nothing says Quality like Collings Guitars, and here we have one which is quite special!
This 2021 Collings D2HR SB features a highly graded set of Hundoran Rosewood back and sides, a style 3 decorative back strip, Sitka spruce top, forward shift scalloped X-bracing, ivoroid binding and butt wedge, nickel Waverly tuners, long dot fingerboard inlay, ebony bridge and fretboard, modern belly bridge with 2 5/16 spacing, mahogany neck with volute, modified V profile, 1 3/4 nut width, bone nut and compensated saddle, nitro lacquer finish with a custom red Sunburst, K&K pickup installed, along with a strap lock system for worry free performance. We would consider it to be an excellent plus condition, showing very few signs of handling. it comes housed in the original Collings case.
This instrument possesses the perfect amount of cut which Collings is known for, but the Honduran rosewood adds a perfect amount of warmth and depth to the sound. It maintains a nice fat bottom end, with warmth, while still maintaining the famous Collings clarity. The trebles are round and sweet, but will jump out and bite someone if you so desire to give it the slightest push. This guitar has wonderful volume, and has no trouble cutting through the mix. If you like Quality that isn’t overdressed, along with versatility in your guitar, this Collings is calling you!
