We are proud to present to you this Jimmy Edmonds D-28 style dreadnought. No stranger to us, Jimmy has crafted some of the greatest instruments we have had the pleasure in experiencing, and he boasts a level of craftsmanship not realized by many small shop builders.

Specs: serial number 234, built in 2014, Adirondack red spruce top, forward shifted scalloped X bracing, Honduran Rosewood back and sides, hand carved mahogany neck with volute, 1 23/32 nut width, the neck airs on the side of thin, comfortable and fast, though it does taper, similar to many 40s Martins we’ve played, 2 5/32 bridge spacing, Ebony Bridge and fingerboard, adorned with herringbone purfling, ivorid binding, two-way truss rod, Waverly open gear tuners, strap button and end pin installed, with a sunburst varnish finish, which Edmonds is famous for.

this instrument has been very well maintained for One which is 11 years old, with only normal signs of wear, including a slight bit of crackling in the varnish where it rests on the players leg, along with a slight amount of crackling where your arm crosses. The playability is fantastic, with plenty of saddle should you need to lower the action in the future; likewise, there are nearly no signs of fret wear. Players with a lighter touch will much appreciate the gratification and lack of effort it takes to play this instrument. It is lightly built, thus the top is excited with just a feathering touch. It has a strong bass response, with really nice overtones, but it leans on the dryer/more vintage side for a rosewood instrument.
