We have a fine example of a 1937 inspired instrument for you, with this D-28 custom from Joshua Young. Mr. Young is revered as one of the most popular guitar makers to come along in sometime. He has a waiting list which stretches beyond two years, and is continuously growing. Many fine guitarists, along with fellow luthiers such as Wayne Henderson and John Arnold, hold his work in very high regard.
This particular instrument spent a year in the stable of our owner and founder, Shawn Brock, and was used by him in the studio consistently. The condition is excellent, although please note there are some small spots on the back where the grain fill is shallow, and the saddle is on the lower side of normal. The instrument is in awesome playing condition, and set up very low, and plays excellent with medium gauge strings. we will guarantee the neck set for a period of one year, or you can feel free to negotiate the price, if you want a really tall saddle now. Also please pay attention to all photographs, and notice the small amount of finished damage near the bass side of the volute. Additionally, this instrument is eligible for trades.
If you are looking for a very open sound, that has great but clean bass, this is one which will please you. Likewise, it has exceptional volume, punch, and cut, while maintaining diversity and pleasantries in the treble. The neck is one of those which rests in a very happy middle ground, while it is vintage inspired, it is not as deep as 37 specs call for, but is thicker than a Martin MLO style. If you get along with the shape and feel of necks from Santa Cruz or Collings, you will feel right at home on this one. It comes housed in a Silvercreek case, although others are available if you so desire.
