Martin Custom Shop HD-28 Adirondack
On consignment - This instrument is based on the timeless classic Martin HD-28, but with a couple of very important upgrades. it boasts an Adirondack spruce top, along with forward shifted and scalloped Adirondack bracing, in the Golden era style. According to Martin, this is one of five instruments made in 2018 for Elderly Instruments in Lansing Michigan, and this instrument has a special stamp of commemoration on the back of the headstock. It is an excellent plus condition as the photos illustrate.
The guitar features East Indian Rosewood back and sides, Adirondack spruce top, forward shifted and scalloped Adirondack braces, a modern low oval neck profile, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, 2 5/32 bridge spacing, bone nut and saddle, diamonds and squares fingerboard inlay, Schaller Grandtune machine heads with open gears, custom stamp on back of headstock, and comes in the original hardshell case.
The video says more about the sound then we could, however it should be noted that this instrument came from a collector who has a sizable number of Guitars, and it was rarely played. In other words, it sounds it’s worse at this point, as it was rarely played. So if this is as bad as it gets, you have found good fortune with the guitar gods, as it already has great power and tone, and hits far above this price point. Take a listen and compare it to other offerings to see for yourself.
