Tim McKnight, The Scroll, Adirondack, spruce and mahogany
In the ever-expanding world of luthier built guitars, there are some of our favorites who copy this and that, and then there are forward thinking veterans such as Tim McKnight. Together with his wife Mary, who acts as the aesthetic designer, dreaming up exquisite wood combinations, and unique inlay ideas, together they produce instruments which look as good as they sound. Many celebrities, and pickers of great stature perform on their guitars, and if you value an instrument which is diverse in sound, perhaps you are ready to join the fellowship. Tim’s craftsmanship can’t be exceeded, and often isn’t matched; simply put, he is a true artisan.
This instrument has a gorgeous sound, is well balanced, and acts as a display of perfection in the modern guitar. From the thick bell like trebles, to the well controlled bass response, this is an instrument for the person who desires a true professional sound. We believe the video demo will tell you what you need to hear, and go some distance of establishing the diverse nature of this guitar. In addition to the wonderful and diverse sound, and top level craftsmanship, the mahogany and Adirondack spruce are simply of jaw dropping Quality, which compliment the inlays and Mary’s other aesthetic appointments.
The instrument features a MacNaught body with a dual Luckenbooth sound port. The back and sides are made from mahogany, while the top is Adirondack spruce with an EIR and curly maple rosette. The bindings are Tazalam, and the fingerboard is Amazon rosewood with Tazalam fingerboard bindings and gold MOP scroll fingerboard inlays. The peghead is Amazon rosewood with matching peghead bindings. It is fitted with Gold Gotoh 300 tuners, a 1-3/4" nut width, and an Amazon rosewood bridge with 2-1/4" bridge spacing and bone bridge pins. The finish is a catalyzed urethane lacquer, and the guitar does not include electronics, to allow you to dial in the preferred pick up system of your choosing.
