Hozen Red Label OM Guitar – Short Scale, African Mahogany Edition
(New, with original Hozen premium hardshell case and all factory materials)
This is a pristine, handcrafted Hozen Red Label OM fresh from the workshop in Singapore/Guangzhou. The Red Label series is Hozen’s tribute to golden-era acoustics—period-correct in feel and voicing, yet refined with modern precision for today’s players who demand effortless playability and rich, dynamic tone.
Hozen Guitars are the creation of master luthier Ho Zen Yong (known simply as Hozen), a Singaporean builder whose family were the first piano makers in the country. After running a successful music retail chain, he founded Maestro Guitars in 2004 and later launched Hozen Guitars to focus purely on high-performance, accessible boutique instruments.
Hozen trained under UK luthier Chris Horton and advanced directly with legendary voicing expert Ervin Somogyi, whose influence is unmistakable in every instrument. He personally voices and designs every single guitar, spending hours tapping, chiseling, and adjusting braces while a skilled team of 10 specialized luthiers handles assembly. Each guitar takes roughly six months to complete. Hozen’s philosophy is simple: tone and responsiveness are everything. He selects and matches tonewoods by ear, adapts traditional X-bracing into his signature “irrigation” pattern that channels vibrations across the top for three-dimensional depth and structural integrity, and uses hide glue, carbon-fiber reinforcements, and French-polished interiors for superior humidity stability. The result is a guitar that feels alive under the fingers—clear, projective, and endlessly expressive.
